Biography of Michael D. Beskin
My background is quite
diversified which seems to be the egg that hatched an extremely
aggressive, inventive and creative mind. In college, I achieved a
Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music to be
followed by a Masters in Music which was achieved at Juilliard
School of Music. I majored in piano, minored in contrabass, and
finished college capable of playing seven different instruments.
However, with all this training, my gift for gab brought me
into sales. I began at 25 yrs. of age selling eye-lashes with
Roberta Martin Cosmetics, Inc. After one year and 1/2, I moved to
Abbott Labs. as a detail salesman under the direction of a Mr.
David Liebmen. I stayed with Abbott for two yrs. and was offered a
position with Revlon under the National V.P. of Sales, Mr. David
Stern. After exceeding every sales quota ever presented to me, Mr.
Revson, himself insisted I take the position of National Sales
Manager and presented me with an annual quota of $156 million
dollars. My net sales that first yr. reached $171 million dollars.
Following this success, I was sought after by
many corporations in the Health and Beauty Aid field. This led me
further up the corporate ladder. I went from Revlon to Upjohn
Pharmaceuticals to be followed by Bergen Brunswig Drug Co., the
second largest drug wholesaler in the U.S. I was the only employee
to work directly under Mr. Amil Martini, CEO of the corporation.
Bergen had a successful vitamin division under the name of Health
Rite Vitamins in which Bergen was offered a substantial sum to
sell to a Mr. Bruce Devlin. Devlin's only requirement was that I
come along with the deal or the deal was canceled. I did as they
wished and became V.P. of sales for Devlin Pharmaceuticals,
selling the first Full line natural and synthetic vitamin line to
be introduced to the drug, food and discount trade.
After four years with Devlin, I took over the
president's position at a company in N.Y. by the name of BIO
Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the third largest private labeler of
tablets and gel caps in the US. Since this is a highly competitive
and cut-throat market, I used every contact and all my sales
ability to double the business of BioPharmaceuticals in two and
1/2 yrs.
It was at this point that I started my own
company by the name of American Fragrance Co. American Fragrance
Co., was the first elegantly packaged incense product to be mass
marketed in the U.S. I built this business from nothing to 9.3
million dollars per year. In 1979, I sold American Fragrance Co.
and began Beskin Ind.. which exists to this very day. Beskin Ind.
is responsible for inventing, manufacturing and marketing the
first and only patented smoking cessation OTC drug on the market
today under the trade-mark name, "Call It Quits."
My abilities through all this extensive
experience have enabled me to take a product from the beginning
stages to the retailer and/or the direct response medium and
finally to the end consumer. I firmly believe my abilities are
second to none. That is why you should have no other choice but to
use what is now Digital Direct Response Television, Inc. for all
your advertising needs in both the direct response and mass
marketing fields. So happy hunting as I am sure you will end up
becoming a member of the "Digital Direct Response Television,
Inc. Family."
Best Regards,
